This past week the Auxiliary celebrated a very successful year of fundraising.
At our annual meeting on June 3 rd, President Lynne Quigley presented a cheque of $1.5 million dollars to Stephanie Beck the Executive Director of The Peace Arch Hospital Foundation. This donation will be paid over five years with one million dollars committed to five new surgical suites. Five hundred thousand dollars will go towards the 4 th floor of the new Hospice Residential Care building, the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation Lodge.
The President also presented a cheque for the 2019- 2020 purchase of equipment for the hospital and the music program for residential care in the amount of $350,070.00 to Theresa O’Callaghan, the Executive Director Peace Arch and Delta hospital. The equipment will be purchased over the next fiscal year and be used in many departments throughout the hospital.
The Auxiliary has funded the music program in residential care for many years.
Professional musicians provide a wide range of musical offerings from classical to popular music. The Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary Society has contributed fifteen million dollars over 71 years by purchasing equipment, supporting programs and providing patient comforts for Peace Arch Hospital.
